1408 (2007)

Film thriller-horor yang diangkat dari cerita karya raja horor Stephen King ini berkisah tentang Mike Einslein (John Cusack), seorang penulis novel horor yang baru saja kehilangan putrinya yang meninggal akibat sakit.

Suatu hari Mike mendapatkan sebuah kartu pos dari orang tak dikenal yang bergambar Dolphin Hotel di New York. Kartu pos itu berisi tulisan “Jangan masuk 1408″. Ia menjadi penasaran dan memeriksa dokumen lama yang berisi tentang hotel berikut kamar 1408 yang dikatakan horror dan telah membunuh puluhan orang penghuninya. Merasa tertantang, Mike menghubungi hotel tersebut. Sayang pihak hotel menyatakan kamar tersebut tidak untuk disewakan. Namun Mike berkeras.

Sesampainya di hotel, Mike disambut manajer hotel, Gerald Olin (Samuel L Jackson) yang mengingatkan Mike akan bahaya yang dihadapinya. Siapa pun yang pernah memasuki kamar 1408, tidak akan bertahan lebih dari satu jam. Namun Mike yang skeptis berkeras. Akhirnya ia pun menginap di kamar tersebut. Dan petualangan Mike dimulai.

Apakah Mike bisa mengungkapkan misteri kamar tersebut dalam penelitiannya? Atau sebaliknya, Mike akan bernasib sama dengan penghuni-penghuni sebelumnya?

127 Hours (2010)

127 Hours adalah sebuah film biografi tahun 2010, yang ditulis dan disutradarai oleh Danny Boyle. Film ini dibintangi James Franco yang berperan sebagai Aron Ralston, seorang pendaki gunung di kehidupan nyata, yang terjebak di sebuah batu besar di Robbers Roost, Utah, selama lebih dari lima hari pada tahun 2003. Film ini berdasarkan otobiografi Ralston, Between a Rock and a Hard Place, yang ditulis oleh Boyle dan Simon Beaufoy dan diproduksi oleh Christian Colson, yang sebelumnya bekerja sama untuk film Slumdog Millionaire, dan John Smithson.

Hanya kemauan untuk hidup yang sangat tinggi yang membuat Aron Ralston (James Franco) berhasil menyelamatkan dirinya dari ganasnya alam. Meski terpaksa harus kehilangan satu tangannya, Aron tak pernah menyerah. Meski ia harus mendaki tebing tinggi dan berjalan bermil-mil, itu tak membuat Aron mundur. Di saat-saat tanpa kepastian ini, hanya refleksi masa lalu yang membayang di mata Aron.

Karena sebuah kecelakaan, Aron terjebak di sebuah ngarai di Utah. Dalam keadaan terluka, Aron hampir menyerah. Tak ada harapan untuk selamat. Pada saat orang-orang sadar kalau Aron hilang, semuanya bakal terlambat. Kalau Aron ingin hidup, satu-satunya cara adalah dengan menyelamatkan dirinya sendiri.

Dengan tangan yang terluka dan hampir membusuk, Aron tak punya pilihan selain harus mengamputasi tangannya sendiri. Dengan segala keberanian, Aron lantas mendaki tebing setinggi 65 kaki dan berjalan sejauh delapan mil sebelum ia akhirnya terselamatkan. Selama perjalanan, yang ada di benak Aron adalah teman-teman, kekasih, keluarga, dan dua orang pendaki yang sempat ia jumpai sebelum kecelakaan.

1778 Stories of Me and My Wife (2011)

Sci-fi writer Sakutaro (Tsuyoshi Kusanagi) and bank employee Setsuko (Yuko Takeuchi) met at as high school freshmen during their summer vacation. Since that time, the couple has always been together and eventually married.
One day, Setsuko complains of a stomach ache and is hospitalized. Sakutaro then learns that his wife has colon cancer. Sakutaro takes the advice from his doctor that laughter helps the immune system and proceeds to write a short story for his wife every day. At first, Setsuko was expected to live for only 1 more year, but she lived for 5 more years and Sakutaro eventually wrote 1,778 short stories for his wife.

100 Feet (2008)

A young woman, Marnie Watson, is granted early release from her prison sentence for manslaughter (killing her husband - a violent NYC cop - in self defense) on condition she wear an electronic ankle bracelet and remain within her home, effectively under house arrest, for the remainder of her sentence. Her late husband's partner keeps tabs on her from a patrol car parked across the street, hoping she'll violate probation and he can send her back to prison. But the 100-foot radius her ankle bracelet allows isn't the worst of her problems. Her dead husband --now a malevolent ghost--is still in the house, where he died -- intent on savage revenge.

13 ASSASSINS (2010)

Pada masa menjelang akhir periode Edo di Jepang, seorang pejabat dari wilayah Akashi; Tosho Mamiya (Uchino) melakukan aksi bunuh diri di depan gerbang Roju bernama Lord Doi (Hira). 13 Hours in a Warehouse (2008)
